The Fantasy Playhouse Theater Academy is a year-round theater school offering classes in the performing arts for ages 5- Adult . The Academy also offers Kindermusik ® ((which is an international music program for children & their care giver) for ages 3 ˝ months to 4 yrs. We have 8 performing arts teachers and 4 certified Kindermusik teachers. We run through about 160 kids each week during the fall and winter sessions and about 300 kids during the summer session. Beside the regular drama, dance, and music classes, we also offer stage makeup and sewing classes and various workshops.

Karen Alexander serves as the current Academy Director. Over the past 30 years, there have been many notable directors such as Helen Herriot, Bonner Dison, Stephen Knight, Lyndy Werpy, Connie Voight, Kristin Tummenillo—all of these directors and their teaching staffs have touched the lives of many children in the Huntsville and surrounding area. Because of their teaching skills, they have inspired many students to audition for the Fantasy productions thus causing their students to catch "the acting bug".


The Academy has three sessions of instruction: Summer ( June- July); Fall ( August - November); and Winter (January- May)
