FPCT IS HIRING A MARKETING COORDINATOR (P/T Ind. Contractor)

Marketing Coordinator Job Responsibilities:

Further Fantasy Playhouse Children’s Theater (FPCT) Marketing/PR efforts by implementing (and expounding upon) current marketing and advertising campaigns; maintaining promotional materials inventory; working with current staff and volunteers to plan marketing events; maintaining databases; preparing reports.

 

Marketing Coordinator Job Duties:

  • Implements marketing and advertising campaigns including, print, radio, social, and other digital platforms; prepares marketing and advertising strategies, plans, and objectives within a predefined budget; plan and organize promotional events; updates local & regional arts & culture calendars as needed.
  • Prepares press releases and schedules PSA recordings and promotional interviews with local media.
  • Prepares marketing reports for FPCT leadership meetings (8-10 per year)
  • Keeps promotional materials ready by coordinating requirements with graphics department; inventorying stock; placing orders; verifying receipt.
  • Promote all programming of a 501 c3 non-profit arts organization, reporting to the Executive Director and working with a combination salaried employees, contract staff, and volunteer administrative and production staff.

The ideal candidate would possess:

  • BA in Marketing or Communications, or equivalent experience.
  • Strong oral & written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and work independently.
  • A willingness to dream big and be part a high-energy organization that is dedicated to serving its stakeholders.
  • A love of the arts and children.

 

Compensation:

Currently, this is a 1099 contractor position, paid monthly. There is a great potential for this position to grow in the coming months and beyond as FPCT continues to experience tremendous growth as an organization.  For now, the flexibility of this position makes it ideal for an experienced candidate looking add to other freelance work assignments or needing to work around other commitments.

FPCT IS HIRING TEACHING ARTISTS

Fantasy Playhouse Children’s Theater & Academy is recruiting experienced drama/acting Teaching Artists for our satellite after school partnership program: Fantasy in the Classroom (FIC).

FIC is designed to teach a general acting curriculum to students grades K-6. Classes focus on developing the Actor’s Tool Box (Body, Voice, Mind, and Imagination) that inspire creativity and build self-confidence. For eight or ten weeks, students are divided up into age appropriate classes which meet after school one day a week for an hour. We explore elements of theatre that are developmentally appropriate and engaging.

Teaching Artist Job Description and Responsibilities:

• Create arts-integrated projects and lesson plans with a collaborating teaching team that will

teach students theatre arts specific skills

• Maintain a safe learning environment

• Attend professional development sessions

• Communicate regularly with the Education Director

Teaching Artist Required Qualifications:

• Minimum BA in Theatre or Theatre Education or equivalent experience

• Minimum of 2 years-experience teaching school-aged children

• Should be comfortable interacting with school administration and teachers

• Strong oral and written communication skills and an ability to work as part of a team are necessary

• Committed to on-going professional development workshops and participate in other FPCT community events

• A love for children and arts education

• Must be a proactive communicator

• Reliable transportation

Teaching Artists will be required to pass an Alabama State Criminal Background check and will receive CPR training before teaching with FPCT.

Hours: Weekday; in the afternoon. Part-time.

Opportunities include working with our Academy classes and camps or our Mainstage productions.

Candidates for Academy classes and camps must be 16 years or older. Theatre experience/training a plus.
